Bonnie Hussey Photography | Tacoma Washington Birth Photographer

August 21, 2013

Hi! I’m Bonnie, I’m a maternity, birth, newborn and breastfeeding photographer in the Tacoma/Olympia/Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA area. I have been photographing pretty much all my life, but I didn’t really start to study and hone my skill until about two and a half years ago, and I opened my business just a little over a year ago.

I started photographing pretty much anything in the beginning, but I quickly learned that birth is really where my heart is, and it wasn’t until a few months into my business journey that I learned maternity and brand new babies also just made me so happy!

I was SO excited when my client contacted me about a breastfeeding session. It was my first breastfeeding session and I was *stoked.* She shared with me some of her struggles, and while those details aren’t mine to share, I knew I had to be on my game for this session. There would be no fluff, no pretty fields with the gorgeous golden light… this would be real. This would be to document *their* journey up until this point so she could look back and see that what she was doing was important to her.

Wow! What gorgeous images! I think Bonnie managed some lovely light even without the golden fields. And I can feel the emotion of a breastfeeding mama when I look at these. Just beautiful.
