2015 has been an amazing year as I’ve watched our Instagram account grow from a couple of thousand followers to now 10,000! Moderating the IG account is something I truly love doing, scrolling through the #lightinspired hashtag and then creating a cohesive feed for Light Inspired. I admit it can be time consuming, as we all know how IG can be a time sucker, but I love discovering new talent as well as keeping up with some all time favorites.
So with that, instead of bringing to you our usual monthly wrap up from our Instagram feed I thought it would be fun to list some of our favorite Instagram accounts to follow in 2016 to keep you inspired. Feel free to let us know some of your favorite IG accounts to follow in the comments below.
We love the way Fiona Tan uses light to photograph ordinary subjects and make them so gorgeous.
No matter what the subject, children, food, travel, Muge Kaya photographs it with a lifestyle approach that is refreshing.
Meg captures magic in the everyday moments of childhood living in an old farmhouse in rural Michigan with her three boys.
Erin Wallis caught our attention this year with her portrait and wedding work. Not only does she get to photograph in some pretty amazing places but you can find pull back shots of her capturing these amazing images on her IG account. If I could get married again I’d totally choose her as my photographer.
As her handle suggests, Christine’s feed documents her family’s travels in a foreign country. Each photograph that she posts, whether it is of the native people, food, street photography or detail shots of her own children they all tell a story and we love how she documents the everyday.
Really these are just a few of our favorites as it’s so hard to narrow it down to just five but we thought it would give you some new inspiration whether you’re passionate about documenting your family, weddings, travel, food or just light.
Amy Donohue is a lifestyle portrait and wedding photographer living in Central Vermont serving all of New England. She has a one-in-a-million husband and three kids who inspire her work through their everyday adventures of living in Vermont. She completed her first 365 project in 2013 and a second one in 2014. She decided that was enough for 2015 but does try and shoot daily sharing her images on her website and on Instagram. She is so excited to be a part of the Light Inspired team and looks forward to seeing you on Instagram where she showcases some pretty amazing images for Light Inspired.
