If you are like me, you have a fair amount of Photoshop actions that you have both purchased and made. In an entire set, I may have 1 or 2 favorites that I repeatedly use. But scrolling through to find those actions in my panel is tedious and time consuming. One solution is to create a “favorites folder” and drop in your most used actions. Yet even faster is to assign a function button (F1, F2, etc) on your keyboard to your favorite actions. Then with just a stroke (or two depending on your keyboard) you can automatically run your action. The best part is that it takes less than a minute to set up. Here what you need to do:
1.) Choose an action and double click on the blank space that is right next to the action’s name. The Actions Options box will pop up and you will simply choose which F key you would like to assign. My keyboard goes up to F12 and I must also hit the function button at the same time for it to work. Yours, however, may be a little different.
That it! One single step and a minute later and you have saved yourself so much time. Below is a free printable I made to share with you. Use it to write down your assigned function key actions and keep it right by your computer.
